Affordable, Low-Flow Plumbing Fixtures

Low-flow toilets, dual flush toilets, low-flow faucets and low-flow showerheads are steadily increasing in popularity in homes and commercial businesses across the United States. They are great ways to conserve water and are extremely affordable to purchase and install. Our licensed, certified technicians at Pratt Plumbing and our Pratt team recommend the use of low-flow plumbing fixtures whenever possible. Our growing commitment to the bettering of our Amarillo, TX and Canyon, TX communities and the environment has showed us many benefits of using low-flow fixtures.

  • Low-Flow Bathroom Showerheads:
    • While traditional showerheads use 4-5 gallons per minute, low-flow showerheads use only about 2.5 gallons per minute which drastically saves water without impacting your daily shower routine.
    • Low-Flow and Dual Flush Toilets:
      • Regular household toilets use anywhere from 3.5 to 7 gallons of water per flush, which is excessive. With dual-flush toilets and low-flow toilets, you are able to choose the amount of water that you use per flush, either 1.1 or 1.6 gallons per flush. 1.6 gallons is the maximum amount allowed for these fixtures, and it seems like a drastic reduction from traditional toilets, but don’t worry. Most people find that they only need the 1.1 gpf (gallons per flush) setting which saves a whole half a gallon of water per flush and a whole lot more in comparison to 3.5 to 7 gallons!
      • Low-Flow Bathroom and Kitchen Faucets– Low-flow faucet aerators for your kitchen and bathroom sinks can reduce water usage by almost 40% by only using the maximum of 2.5 gallons per minute as opposed to the traditional 4 gallons per minute.

Tankless Water Heaters

Water heaters are a very important part of your plumbing system the entire year round and not just in the wintertime. Hot water is a necessity for maintaining a comfortable and convenient lifestyle in your home or at your commercial property. With tankless water heaters, your hot water is heated on demand when you need it and not being constantly heated when it is not being used. By eliminating the need to store hot water, they save many more gallons of water per minute than traditional water heaters with tanks do. Also called an “on-demand” water heater, tankless water heaters are becoming more and more popular in homes currently because they save space, time, money and they also conserve water! Both electric and gas models show advantages but gas models are said to have an edge in regards to low flow rates and energy conservation.

*Check out a great plumbing value now with our Service Agreements*

We are literally flushing an extremely valuable resource down the drain every time we cook, clean, brush our teeth and bathe without using low-flow plumbing fixtures and being a part of other valuable water and energy saving techniques. The good thing about these fixtures is that you will barely notice any change at all in your water flow. The goal is not to limit or minimize your comfort when it comes to the water usage in your daily routines but to maintain that comfort while actively saving water as well.
